During the pandemic, faced with the option of losing engagement with fans, I spearheaded and produced over 160 streaming events for the Hideout between April 2020 and December 2020. Meant to mirror the Hideout's physical location, the programming consisted of a weekly talk show with the most veteran bartender during his normal weekly shift, a new songwriter showcase curated by some up and coming artists, and live, four camera shows productions from the Hideout featuring Chicago talent. The programming was featured heavily in Time Out Chicago, the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Reader, Do312 and other local blogs.
TOMORROW NEVER KNOWS
2015 - 2020
The long running festival, started by Schuba's and Lincoln Hall, was a multi-venue festival during the winter months in Chicago. The Hideout had historically hosted up and coming comedy headliners. The last few years saw an explosion of Chicago-centric acts that could perform to the same crowds as national headliners. Recent acts include Whitmer Thomas, Kate Berlant, Open Mike Eagle, Megan Stalter, The Three Busy Debras, Neil Hamburger, and many more.
PICNICS ON THE PORCH
2016 - 2019
The weekly summertime event brings acoustic music the the front porch of the Hideout for intimate performances. Time Out Chicago called it "exactly what we're looking for in the summertime". The full immersion of the event brought a food partner who would provide pre-packed picnic boxes for attendees, and a beverage partner who provided a unique beverage. Blankets were even provided to patrons. The series nearly sold out its run in 2019 hosting grammy-nominated artists and bright up-and-comers.
